His recent work includes securing a unanimous jury verdict in a federal fraud case against a global beverage manufacturer, defeating class certification in a multimillion-dollar consumer action, and successfully representing a U.S. contractor in an international arbitration involving construction defects at military installations in Iraq.

Ted’s litigation practice includes both plaintiff and defense work in state and federal courts, with deep experience resolving claims related to unfair business practices, breach of fiduciary duty, civil RICO, and class action defense. He has guided clients through regulatory investigations, including those conducted by the SEC and NASD (now FINRA), and regularly represents corporations, financial institutions, and executives in matters involving significant exposure and reputational risk.

With particular experience across the financial services, health care, technology, and energy sectors, Ted has advised institutional clients in a range of disputes—from complex lease and partnership issues to title, boundary, and real estate ownership conflicts. He has also represented officers and directors in sensitive employment-related litigation.

Ignacio J. Lazo is a highly experienced transactional and litigation attorney whose practice spans business formation, commercial finance, real estate, and secured transactions. For decades, he has advised clients across industries on the formation, structuring, and operation of business entities, with a particular emphasis on loan documentation, equipment leasing and finance, vendor/supplier agreements, and all matters involving the Uniform Commercial Code.

His real estate practice is equally broad, representing buyers, sellers, lenders, title insurers, landlords, tenants, and developers in joint ventures, commercial and ground leases, portfolio financing, and IRC § 1031 exchanges. He is also experienced in hospitality, restaurant, and franchise operations, offering end-to-end counsel for business owners in those sectors.

Ignacio has held leadership roles in the legal community, including as Chair of the Post-Judgment Remedies Subsection of the State Bar of California’s Business Law Section and as a member of both the Ethics Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Federal Bar Committee.

Earlier in his career, Ignacio focused on bankruptcy and insolvency law, representing debtors-in-possession, trustees, creditors’ committees, and secured/unsecured creditors in adversary proceedings, contested matters, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. His experience spans Chapters 7, 11, and 13 and has informed his holistic, cross-disciplinary legal approach.
